Dr. Valeri graduated with a BS in Biology at the University of California Santa Barbara. She received her DMD degree at Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine in Ohio where she also received the Dean’s Clinical Scholarship Award. As her dental school class president, she represented 65 constituent interests to the Executive Staff at the Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Valeri did a one-year AEGD residency at the Keesler Airforce Base in Mississippi. She served in the US Air Force from 2013 to 2016. She received an Air Force Commendation Medal as well as Company Grade Officer Award. Dr. Valeri served in several leadership roles while in the Air Force. She was the Team Chief of a Mass Casualty Triage Team, which consisted of 16 members who were responsible to train and equip core groups of enlisted and officer staff in preparation for any Mass Casualty Event Triage Response. While serving as Director and Preceptor in charge, she was responsible for teaching and training Independent Duty Medical Technicians in diagnosis and basic dental treatment procedures during field operations. She also pioneered a digital process to fulfill the Joint Commission accreditation requirements for design, implementation, education, and training of personnel in standard operating processes for patient care electronic health records.
Since her retirement from the Air Force, Dr. Valeri has volunteered her dental services for the community outreach program, Dentistry from the Heart. Dr. Valeri and her husband have two boys. We are very happy that she can stay on with us for her two-year stay in Chapel Hill. We are so grateful Dr. Valeri has joined our team. She is a great asset here at Ellis Family Dentistry!
